
Look at Cicero’s name.
TVLLIVS – Nominative
CICIIRON – NOT nominative with that N; and the E has most certainly been copied from a hand written document as in Roman script the E is II
We can deduce that the engraver was using some document to get the details right but that there was no highly literate Latin speaker at his elbow tut-tutting about the niceties of what what being copied from one medium to another.
